African jacana chicks foraging in their makeshift wetland. The favored prey item here are the live arthropods (gammarus) that are offered by our staff every hour throughout the daylight hours. The addition of the aquatic plant in the dish is an added layer of enrichment as it encourages them to actually hunt for them.
