Talk about an unexpected twist! Unbeknownst to anyone but the birds, a cotton pygmy goose, who is currently setting her own nest in the same aviary, slipped an egg into this common teal nest, who was already nesting, prior to starting her true nest. This is the first time I have ever had a pygmy goose egg laid in the nest of another bird. Needless to say, I was quite surprised to see this little head popping up from beneath the common teal!
