Baby Blackbirds

These hungry blackbird chicks are awaiting breakfast from the mother hen who is currently out foraging in the aviary. Their feeding response was triggered by the motion of my hand to take these photos. Interestingly enough, of all the natural places and opportunities the blackbirds have to nest within the aviaries, this particular female chose to nest on a feeding platform. Whatever works!
