These photos are of our new duckling rearing area for more sensitive species. Each of the five runs has ample water surface area, allowing and encouraging the ducks to be more active. It is open air and the fans help to circulate air within the space. UV transmitting acrylic sky lights allow the ducklings all of the benefits of the sun. The ducklings can also see the birds in the adjacent aviaries which will be beneficial when it’s time to graduate out of the runs and settle into bigger enclosures. So far, we have observed less skittish and much more active ducklings and are thrilled with how it has turned out so far!
