Phenomenal red-crested pochards! This Palearctic diving duck has long been a popular aviary inhabitant for its beauty, calm demeanor, and ease of care. It has an extensive range from Western Europe to Central Asia inhabiting a number of wetland varieties. Our birds are currently sorting their pairs out, much as they would in their natural wintering sites. They are a fairly early nester here and will often lay 2-3 clutches per season.
